TRIDI XR: After 12 Years of Immersive Audio Research, We Are Putting Listeners Inside the Sound

TRIDI XR is a Brazilian 3D audio platform created by Binaulab Audio 3D. Discover the story behind the Android app that transforms music, podcasts and audiobooks into immersive, personalized sound experiences.
Recently, we began the first subscription sales for TRIDI XR.
For many people, this may look like the launch of just another app.
For us, it is much more than that.
It is the visible beginning of a journey built over more than 12 years of research, experimentation, trial and error, sleepless nights, technological persistence and a nearly obsessive question that never left us:
What if anyone could listen to music as if they were inside it?
TRIDI XR was born from that question.
Not as an app created to follow a trend, but as the result of a life built around music, sound technology, audio production and immersive experiences.
The origin: music came before technology
The story of TRIDI XR begins long before 3D audio became a mainstream topic.
My name is Pablo Fervença Coitino, founder of Binaulab Audio 3D and creator of TRIDI XR.
My relationship with music started at birth. I am the son of music teachers. I grew up inside music conservatories, running through the halls, attending early music education classes and later studying classical piano, popular piano and everything related to sound.
I lived music on stage, in studios, in church, in orchestras, choirs, popular bands, heavy metal bands, jazz bands and dance bands.
At the same time, I became fascinated by electronics and computers. By the age of 15, I was already producing my first “CD” for a local singer in my hometown.
Then came college in the field of audio technology, work at a major musical instrument store as a product technician, jingles, recordings, mixing, mastering, short films, advertising campaigns and projects with talented professionals, artists and brands.
All of that became the foundation for what would later become Binaulab Audio 3D.
But in 2013, something changed.
The first encounter with binaural audio
In 2013, I heard binaural audio through headphones for the first time.
It fascinated me.
It felt as if the sound was no longer just “in front of me.” It was around me. It had depth, distance, movement and presence.
It was not just sound playback.
It was an experience.
I built my own binaural microphone, started recording experiments, published them on YouTube and turned that channel into a living laboratory.
That is where Binaulab was born:
Binaural + Laboratory.
Actors, clowns, singers, bands, orchestras, events and talented artists came along. Many people trusted the process and allowed me to experiment.
YouTube became a testing ground. Every comment, reaction and listening experience helped us understand how people perceived depth, movement, position, distance and emotion in sound.
From stereo music to 3D experiences
In 2016, we entered a new phase: transforming songs originally produced in stereo into binaural experiences, adding depth, space and instruments positioned around the listener.
The idea was to create the sensation of being inside a rehearsal room, with musicians performing live around you.
That opened an even bigger question:
What if large music catalogs could gain a new dimension without forcing artists, producers and labels to start everything from scratch?
In 2017, we produced “Incrível Mente 3D”, a first-person 3D audio audiobook for children, released in Portuguese and English and distributed by Ubook.
In 2018, as the global market started paying more attention to immersive audio, I was also speaking at the Audio Engineering Society, AES, about Ambisonics, one of the most important technologies in the spatial audio universe.
At the same time, major global players were moving quickly into immersive audio formats, software, streaming, production and distribution.
That brought a mix of excitement and challenge.
On one hand, it confirmed that immersive audio had a huge future.
On the other hand, it became clear that this future was still far away from many independent artists, producers, labels and everyday listeners.
The problem TRIDI XR was created to solve
Immersive audio has evolved a lot in recent years.
But several problems remain.
Not every song people want to hear is available in 3D audio.
Producing or remixing content in immersive formats can be expensive, complex and time-consuming.
Many artists and producers do not have easy access to this kind of technology.
And for the listener, one immersive mix may feel amazing to one person and uncomfortable or unbalanced to another, because every head, every ear and every pair of headphones responds differently.
That is when TRIDI XR began to take shape.
The question was no longer only:
“How do we create 3D audio?”
The better question became:
“How do we put control of the immersive experience in the listener’s hands?”
What is TRIDI XR?
TRIDI XR is a Brazilian 3D audio platform created by Binaulab Audio 3D to transform music, podcasts, audiobooks and sound content into immersive, personalized experiences.
The goal is simple and ambitious:
to put the listener inside the sound.
In the TRIDI XR Android app, users can listen to the original high-quality audio or switch to a 3D binaural version, with depth, movement, spatial sensation and personalization.
This is not just about turning on an effect.
TRIDI XR allows users to adjust key elements of the sound experience, including voice, instruments, movement, space and headphone model correction.
That changes the relationship between the listener and the audio.
Instead of receiving a fixed experience that is the same for everyone, users can participate in the way they listen.
They can choose how they want to feel the sound.
From passive playback to personalized experience
For years, digital music evolved mainly around access.
More songs.More catalogs.More playlists.More recommendations.More algorithms.
Streaming solved a fundamental part of the industry: it put millions of tracks within everyone’s reach.
But access is not the same as presence.
TRIDI XR was created to open a new layer of digital music: the layer of experience.
We are not trying to replace traditional streaming platforms. They play a massive role and will continue to do so.
What TRIDI XR proposes is a new step:
after finding the music, the listener can enter it.
The dream is becoming real
For years, this idea felt almost impossible.
What if we could combine the original high-quality audio with a personalized immersive experience?
What if users could switch, with one button, between the original song and a 3D binaural version?
What if they could adjust voice, instruments, movement and space?
What if the system could correct the experience according to their headphone model?
What if large catalogs could be converted in just a few days, without forcing artists, labels and producers to rebuild everything from zero?
That was the vision.
Today, that vision is beginning to leave the lab and reach the public.
TRIDI XR is now live on Android.
A new opportunity for artists
TRIDI XR was also born from another concern: the way artists are compensated in the digital music economy.
We know that traditional streaming models do not always create a fair, direct and recurring relationship between artists and fans.
That is why we created a system where artists can register, share their own discount coupons with their fans and receive from 1% to 10% of the net recurring value of each subscription linked to their name.
As long as the fan remains subscribed, the artist continues to receive.
This is not just about views.
It is about real audience, community and direct relationships.
With this model, TRIDI XR aims to create a new bridge between immersive technology, music catalogs, fans and recurring revenue.
An invitation to artists, labels, podcasts and audiobooks
We are now in a content growth phase and looking for partners who want to be part of this new chapter.
TRIDI XR is open to conversations with:
independent artists;
record labels;
music distributors;
producers;
podcasters;
audiobook publishers;
voice actors and narrators;
sound content creators;
brands looking for 3D audio experiences;
investors and strategic partners.
Our mission is to transform sound content into immersive, accessible and personalized experiences.
A song can remain itself, but gain a new dimension.
A podcast can become more engaging.
An audiobook can become a spatial narrative.
A playlist can become a journey.
A catalog can become an experience.
The next layer of digital music
TRIDI XR is not just an app.
It is the result of years spent trying to understand where sound can still go.
It is a platform created by someone who was born inside music, grew through audio technology and spent more than a decade researching how to make immersive audio more accessible, more personal and more human.
We believe the next revolution in digital music will not be only about having more content available.
It will be about feeling each piece of content in a new way.
Streaming put music in everyone’s pocket.
TRIDI XR wants to put the listener inside it.
